If your Qatar Airways Privilege Club status slipped this year, Qatar is giving you a way back. The airline has launched two limited-time offers for members flying from Doha: double Qpoints and a Tier Restoration offer. One of them ends almost right away.
Qatar Airways announced both offers in a post on X on October 5. The Peninsula and Marhaba published the details the next day.
Offer 1: Double Qpoints, but book now
Qpoints are what Qatar uses to decide your tier. Under the first offer, Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum members earn double Qpoints on flights from Doha.
- Book: October 5 to October 10, 2026.
- Fly: October 5 to December 18, 2026.
- Where: journeys that start in Doha.
That booking window closes on October 10. If you live in Qatar and were planning a trip before mid-December, this is the last moment to lock it in.
According to the terms published by Marhaba, the offer is only for main Privilege Club members. Flights must be both marketed and operated by Qatar Airways. You need to add your membership number when you book or check in. The bonus comes on top of the Qpoints you would normally earn. Tickets issued before October 5 do not count, even if they are reissued during the offer.
Offer 2: Get your old tier back
The second offer is the bigger one. From October 11 to December 18, 2026, members can restore their previous tier by booking journeys from Doha. Travel can run from October 11, 2026, to April 1, 2027.
The Peninsula says it covers two groups:
- Members whose tier was downgraded between March 1 and October 4, 2026.
- Members whose tier is due to expire between October 5 and December 18, 2026.
Gulf Times gives October 6 as the end of the downgrade window, so check your own dates with Qatar before you book. The reports we read do not say how many flights or Qpoints a restoration takes.
Why Qatar is doing this
Qatar says the offers recognize "the exceptional circumstances experienced across the region in recent months, which may have affected travel plans for some members." The airline adds that Privilege Club will keep offering extras for members in the local market.
In plain terms, members who could not fly much this year may not have earned enough Qpoints to keep their status. This gives them a second chance.
What status is worth in Doha
Qatar's tier page lists the normal bar to keep each tier:
- Silver: 135 Qpoints in 12 months, or 270 in 24 months.
- Gold: 270 Qpoints in 12 months, or 540 in 24 months.
- Platinum: 540 Qpoints in 12 months, or 1,080 in 24 months.
You also need at least 20% of your Qpoints, or a set number of sectors, on flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways.
Status matters most on the ground. Qatar Gold matches oneworld Sapphire, and Platinum matches oneworld Emerald. At Hamad International, our directory lists the Platinum Lounge (South), the Gold Lounge (South) and the Platinum and Gold Lounge (North) for elites flying economy. Business class passengers use the Al Mourjan Business Lounge (South) or The Garden.
What to do
- Check your current tier and its expiry date in the Qatar Airways app.
- If you want double Qpoints, book a Doha departure before October 10 ends.
- If you lost status after March 1, wait for the restoration window to open on October 11, then read the full terms on Qatar's site before you book.
